BRANCH PROJECTS
Education
Scholarship at Centralia College: The Dr. Kate Gregg Scholarship, a full tuition scholarship for a sophomore woman, has been given each year since 1955 from proceeds raised at the annual Used Book Sale.
An Endowment Scholarship of $1000 is given to a woman pursuing her education as a junior or senior at any college of university. Funds come from the interest of the Lewis County AAUW Endowment Fund.
An application for either scholarship can be obtained from aauwscholarship@rainierconnect.com. Applications are due February 15 of each year for the following fall.
Expanding Your Horizons, a career day for middle-school girls, is held each October in conjunction with Centralia College.
Fundraising
A Used Book Sale is held each year, usually the last week in March, at the Lewis County Mall in Chehalis. All books are acquired by donation and proceeds are used to fund the Dr. Kate Gregg Scholarship as well as other activities of the branch. Books are collected throughout the year. To make a donation, call 360-736-2147.

At our annual Used Book Sale, held in March at the Lewis County Mall, we raised enough money to support our scholarships and other activities for the coming year. Scholarship chair Priscilla Tiller and current scholarship recipient Mary Capen helped haul books to the sale. Member Peggy Barth helped sort books before the sale. Non-fiction books were sorted into over 50 categories to make browsing easier.
