Organization Structure

AAUW-WA has 37 branches, including one on-line branch, that are organized into six geographic districts.  Districts elect representatives to the state nominating committee at each annual convention, with the chair rotating among districts.

Branches are governed by elected and appointed officers who serve for varying terms, depending of the bylaws of each individual branch.  Each branch president is a member of the state board.

The state organization is governed by a board that includes each branch president and state officers elected by the membership, who serve two-year terms.  They may be re-elected to an additional two-year term.  There are also a number of appointed officers of the state organization who chair important committees, such as public policy.
